How I Stopped Balding

Hair loss is hereditary in my family line but I never knew that it would affect me at such an early age. I first noticed that my hairline was receding shortly before my thirtieth birthday. I was terrified and in denial that I was losing my hair. I even started losing hair on the back of my head.

For the first time in my life, I felt that age has eventually caught up. I felt like the best years of my life were behind me. I even ceased seeing women. My love life was virtually non-existent. There was one girl I had been seeing nonchalantly and even though I liked her, I just stopped returning her phone calls. I realised that I hadn’t found the woman of my dreams with a full head of hair so there was no way I was going to find someone with my growing bald spot. I was too deflated to even try having a loving kinship.

Hair loss affected me tremendously, it changed me from a confident person to a dismayed loner. I was very determined to address the issue and get the problem fixed. I tried lots of hair loss treatments that are available over the counter. Nothing I got from the chemist worked and trust me, I gave them all a go . After that, I just stopped trying for a while. It was a real low point in my life. I even stopped going out with my friends, I was so dismayed.

Fortunately, one night a colleague dragged me out of the house for a few beverages. He had noticed that I looked a little down and thought he knew why. He told me about the hair loss studio in the city. My friend had gone there for hair loss treatments and had been impressed with the results. I was even more impressed. He had no sign of hair loss, he had a full head of hair. He made me promise to give them a go and I agreed.

I could not have been happier with the hair loss studio recommended to me. After just a few hair loss treatments, I had a full head of hair again. The results were excellent, they did not just give me my hair back but also my self-assurance.

Creating a New ‘Objective’ Reality

[Yogi Sean is the student of Swami Ramananda and a co-founder of the Sadhana Society]

We have spent a lot of time talking about and observing the ways in which we utilize our organizing filter, our organizing structure to select circumstances or events in our lives to bring things to a headto bring out a sense of a specific type of character in our lives. We’ve talked about this a lot through the series, of how I willnot on a conscious level but in kind of an unconscious wayorganize what I see in such a way that it supports, let’s just say, that I feel victimized by the world.
I think it’sas I had said beforeI think it’s one most of us deal with because the religious mythology of Christianity and Judaism sees nature as the enemy.

We actually are trained to view the world as something that isn’t supportive, that isn’t abundant, that actually is hostile to our existence. From that perspective, it’s very understandable that we would have a super-structure within us that interprets events, that strings together events that support that sense of, in your words, of an inimical universe. We’ve talked a lot about that, through observation, through willingness to change, and then through joya sheer joy of expression in changing.

We’ve experimented with these things, we’ve seen how these organizing structures that are based upon these inner senses of identitieslike being victimized by life, by the worldhave literally precipitated things happening in our lives. We end up drawing the negative situation to uswhich sounds kind of like what we were talking about earlier, and yet that’s not really what I’m trying to say. What I’m trying to say is, if I’m a victim to life and I’m walking around thinking that I’m a victim to life, then what I’m going to experience in my life is victimization.

And if I’m a good person, and I’m thinking good things, then I’m going to have a good experience even if the actual circumstance itself might not be completely good.

There are numerous things that I have in my life that regulate me financially, but nothing affects my finances more than my household budget. There are not a lot of individuals nowadays who have learned how to budget and this can lead to many financial problems, including debt. Many of us think that creating a budget was too complex, this is the main reason why we get in to trouble. But in actuality, producing a budget does not have to be difficult at all; it can be as easy as writing down what we spend and updating it every month. By doing this, we do not spend more than we have.

It is important for me to keep in mind that my budget is just my program for my monthly expenditure. Just like any program, mybudget does require me to oversee it to keep it working correctly. First step is to organize the information that I need in it. I keep track of expenses like car payments, utilities, car insurance policy, groceries, etc. If I do not coordinate mybudget, I can easy find myself in debt. It is vital for me to know exactly what I require on expenditures each month.

I see two advantages with keeping an eye on with my finances through my budget. First of all, I am able to save money on uncalled-for expenditure. Secondly, I can keep myself from going into unnecessary debt. When I spend my money wisely, I buy only things that are necessary and I free up money that I can use on something that I want or can save it. With the extra cash I am able to save, I have the option of putting it aside and investing.

Alone and Searching for Singles Events in North Dallas

Not that I hate to say it, but dating games don’t “get” me. I finally bottomed out, this morning I devoured what seemed like a pound of bacon. On a weekend that comes from being alone, obviously. That actually happened. Is that even legal? Well, that’s when I first looked into getting out to date in Dallas or Denver.

Easy solution. Figured I’d boost my dating life thru professionally hosted Denver singles events. That turned out to be my golden ticket. Loneliness bites, heres why. I was at Julie’s soccer finals in Denver yesterday, great aunt Judy wouldn’t get off my back about if I’ve found a special lady. At first I didn’t know what to say to that. I didn’t want to answer, but then laughed, “I’m working on it, chill out.”

No surprise that Cousin Terry kept pressing me along the lines of my personal matters. I leveled to the whole group: “Hey look, I manage, don’t I?”

You know what? Everyone looked away and giggled. Perturbed, I went to the gym to put my dating woes behind me. But I couldn’t get it out of my head! Nothing was helping and I needed some damn help. Nina, who was a fellow Ram in high school (go Rams!) suggested that I browse the singles profiles at Great Expectations. I said, “That’s what I was going to do.” See, everything always works out. I am truly grateful for the Denver Singles Events at Great Expectations.

At the time, meeting new singles through dating services was a novel thing because I’m a traditionalist of sorts. I was a bit nervous at first, so much so that I got a little queasy. That emotional anxiety did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. That night I enjoyed was a happy hour not to forget. The one cool thing that really struck me were the many enjoyable people I met, all available singles.

It wasn’t long before I was regularly mingling at these incredibly satisfying Great Expectations Dallas singles nights, I bumped into a collection of dynamite friends that must share a parallel understanding when it comes to dating. Now I can stop letting my family give their two cents about being single. Awesomely enough, dating with Great Expectations is enjoyable and a remarkably refreshing dating experience.

Where’s The Joy?

There is so much to get done these days. Sometimes it seems like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get it all accomplished! But, you know what? We don’t have any more or less time during our days than our ancestors did. The difference is that they seemed to have a different spirit and attitude towards life.
We want to be organized. We want to get our lists and projects done, but at what cost?

I know that sometimes I have been so focused on a project I am doing that I have been sharp with my kids. I’m not proud of that. I would get my agenda done and accomplished but I wouldn’t relax. I became stressed and more easily irritated. In the meantime life was flying by and I was missing out on enjoying the everyday little things.

I am working on setting aside my agenda every now and again to sit down and look at my family. Really see them, be with them; body, mind and soul and enjoy their company. How I relish doing that! I am also learning on enjoying my work time as well as my playtime.

We need to learn to be more joyful in all parts of our life not just certain breaks or intervals of it. If you can take pleasure in a chore, time seems to go by more swiftly and you feel more relaxed and less rushed in life. Take pride and pleasure not just in your hobbies and interests but also in your household work. You can feel pleasure in planting flowers, cooking an aroma-filled dinner or making a bed that you know brings you rest. Be interested in all you do. You will see how you can carry a joyful heart with you as you work as well as when you play.

We don’t need more hours or days in which to enjoy ourselves. Laura Ingalls Wilder said, “If we expect to enjoy our life, we will have to learn to be joyful in all of it, not just at stated intervals when we can get time or when we have nothing else to do.”

I’m working on doing just that and hoping it rubs off on my family as well. It will take time and effort but I’m determined to learn and feel joy permeate my life.
I hope that you may also rediscover that joy.

The 7 Keys To Your Creative Genius

Here are 7 ways you can instantly access your natural creativity and create anything you like.

1. Think Like A Child. As adults we tend to think in a conditioned way aimed at showing how clever we are. Yet, as children, we were simply spontaneous and far more creative in our thinking. To re-capture your childhood curiosity, allow yourself to just wonder at things, to be completely present in the here and now, and to detach yourself from what you thought was real.

2. Make New Connections. To be innovative doesn’t require a university degree; it simply requires making a connection between existing ideas. For instance, did you know that ice cream was invented in 2000 BC yet it took another 3900 years for someone to come up with the idea of a cone? It’s when you take two seemingly unrelated items and use the spark of creativity that genius happens.

3. Be A Little Illogical. It is a peculiarly Western trait to want to tie things up in neat bundles. We prefer solutions to problems, and answers to questions. To be creative, you need to be comfortable with things that don’t fit. The Eastern tradition is more in tune with incongruence. As in this Zen koan, or problem: what is the sound of one hand clapping?

4. Laugh More. Tom Peters says that the creativity of a workplace can be measured by a laughometer, ie how much it laughs. Humour is one of the greatest creative devices. It jolts us out of our normal patterns and puts ideas together that shouldn’t go together. It has been found that after listening to comedy tapes, students’ ability to solve problems rises by 60%.

5. Think Outside Your Limits. Many of the products we take for granted today are the result of people thinking outside their limits. John Lynn recalls attending a computer conference in the 1980’s at a hotel when someone joked that the next thing they’d be thinking of would be computerised doors. When he went back to the same hotel 20 years later, all the doors used computer-programmed key cards.

6. Adopt and Adapt. To be creative doesn’t require blue-sky thinking. You can still be creative by adapting what works elsewhere. An American airline that wanted quicker turnarounds on their flights adopted the techniques of Formula One pit crews. Another source of ideas is nature. Georges de Mestral adapted the way certain seeds stick to clothing and invented Velcro.

7. Remember Your Dreams. Dreaming and day-dreaming can create a rich seam of ideas, because that’s when we relax and let the subconscious mind work by itself. The Roffey Park Management Institute calls this “washing-up creativity” because most flashes of inspiration come when we are walking the dog, sitting Archimedes-like in the bath, or doing the washing up.

Apply these 7 creative thinking techniques and make them part of your daily thinking and I guarantee that new solutions to your problems will open up to you with ease and speed.
